Grace chose law school because she wanted a client-focused career built around continuous learning and connecting with new people. Before law school, she spent time working directly with people in hands-on roles, including as a special education aide and a pharmacy technician. Those experiences reinforced her interest in a career centered on helping others navigate difficult situations.
During law school, Grace participated in the Family Legal Advocacy and Support Clinic, where she saw firsthand how the law affects people's everyday lives and found a genuine opportunity to help others through her degree. That interest carried into her selection of labor and employment law, where she was drawn to the team and the variety of clients and cases. Grace values both the litigation side of the practice and the counseling that happens before a dispute ever reaches litigation.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Grace spent her first summer exploring a range of practice groups and projects before narrowing her focus to labor and employment in her second summer. She worked on briefs, CLE presentations, blog posts, and attended hearings, gaining exposure to both the litigation and advisory sides of the practice.
