Gaby helps clients with labor and employment matters, including litigation, compliance, and workplace challenges.
Gaby’s commitment to the legal profession began early and was influenced by her grandfather, a respected legal advocate in Mexico who served his community with integrity. Before attending law school, Gaby worked as a senior paralegal at a boutique litigation firm, where she gained hands-on experience in federal and state litigation.
In law school, moot court and trial advocacy sparked Gaby’s interest in litigation, while coaching a competitive mock trial team and teaching legal research and writing strengthened her commitment to advocacy. Employment law and employment discrimination courses ultimately pointed Gaby toward a practice area where legal advocacy directly affects people’s workplaces and careers. She externed for the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, and served as a Rule 13 extern with the Missouri State Public Defender’s office, arguing preliminary and bond hearings. Employment work appealed to her because it combines litigation with counseling, defending employers while helping them avoid disputes altogether.
As a two-time summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Gaby split her first summer between the firm and an in-house rotation at a water utility company, seeing both firm practice and in-house counsel work firsthand. Her second summer provided opportunities to work more independently and develop a deeper understanding of how legal strategy unfolds over the course of a representation.
Known for her work ethic and authentic investment in the people she serves, Gaby approaches each matter with curiosity and determination. By building trust and working collaboratively, she stays focused on helping clients achieve their objectives.
