Overview

Carol first joined Husch Blackwell in 2000 and is a paralegal in the Intellectual Property practice group.

She has extensive experience in providing support to attorneys in patent and trademark litigation, trademark prosecution and maintenance, and copyright matters.  Carol’s in-depth knowledge of = federal court litigation, Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office procedures allows her to anticipate the needs of the attorneys she supports and be one step ahead, increasing efficiency and saving time.

In addition to maintaining client trademark portfolios and providing patent and trademark litigation support, Carol routinely works with the firm’s IP attorneys to perform and analyze results of trademark searches to determine a proposed mark’s availability for registration; review client websites for correct use of applied-for and registered marks; analyze and compare a potential infringer’s use of a client’s trademark or use of a client’s copyright registered materials; and conduct research on a variety of subjects, such as federal and state sweepstakes requirements, FDA ingredient identification and labeling requirements, and FTC policy and enforcement regarding use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising.
