Hospices have been inundated with audits in recent years, ranging from program integrity audits to Targeted Probe and Education reviews. The array of technical or documentation-related denials stemming from these audits has also expanded. Such denials can require hospices to investigate further, beyond the audit’s initial scope, under the 60-Day Repayment Rule. In this session, presenters offer a primer on frequently seen technical denials, the 60-Day Repayment Rule, and a hospice’s obligations where they intersect.
