Speaking Engagements

Nick Agnello and Chris Friedman will present, “AI in Consumer Lending – Managing Fair Lending, UDAAP, and Vendor Risk in an Uncertain Regulatory Environment,” at the Online Lenders Alliance (OLA) Legal Issues Conference on February 24, 2026.

Artificial intelligence is moving quickly from “innovation project” to embedded infrastructure across the consumer lending lifecycle—marketing, underwriting, servicing, and collections. This panel will offer a practical framework for identifying and mitigating the core legal risks: fair lending and adverse action transparency, UDAAP exposure tied to model outputs and customer communications, privacy/data governance, and the contracting and oversight issues that arise when AI is sourced from third party vendors or embedded in broader fintech stacks. We will also address how to plan for a potentially relaxed federal posture while states continue to police AI through both AI-specific statutes and traditional consumer protection tools, including the coming effective date of Colorado’s “high-risk AI” requirements and other state disclosure/transparency regimes.
