Husch Blackwell’s Carlos Rodriguez joined a panel of experts addressing the changes brought forth by the 2022 Ocean Shipping Reform Act (OSRA-22), the first major shipping reform in more than 20 years.

The Act has notable implications for detention and demurrage fees, which have greatly escalated amid the global supply chain challenges since the onset of the Covid pandemic. As the implementation of the Act takes shape, the panel explored the new tools shippers have to challenge fees and other practices that they believe violate the law.

OSRA-22 will likely reshape the way carriers and shippers interact in a material way. This discussion, led by the Journal of Commerce’s Peter Tirschwell, provided insight on what changes shippers can expect and when.

The webinar is free and has been made available on demand.
