DE&I Speaker Series: A conversation with Nina Perales

Vice President of Litigation, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund

Webinar

We are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with guest speaker Nina Perales, Vice President of Litigation for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). Husch Blackwell attorney Catarina Colón will talk with Ms. Perales about MALDEF’s advocacy to promote fair treatment for Latinos in the United States including voting rights, census issues, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and other immigrant rights.

Ms. Perales joined MALDEF as a staff attorney in 1996 and has served in her current leadership role since 2011. She has collaborated with Husch Blackwell on at least one occasion, when Kansas City Office Managing Partner Jeff Simon worked with her as local counsel in a voting rights matter a few years ago.

The HB Communities for Change Speaker Series is designed to help our community gain wider exposure to diverse perspectives. The second conversation in our DE&I Speaker Series promises to be an educational and enlightening event, so please be sure to join us!
