Join Husch Blackwell attorneys for a discussion of the Supreme Court’s decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. President and Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina. The decision holds that the universities’ race-conscious admissions procedures are prohibited by the Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution and that race itself cannot be used as a factor in admissions.

The presentation will discuss the background of the cases, the Supreme Court’s reasoning for invalidating the use of race-conscious admissions procedures, the immediate effect the decisions are likely to have on admissions practices, and possible pathways for institutions seeking to achieve a diverse student body.
