He will serve a one-year term as Chair.

“I can’t think of a better choice to lead the Business Law Section than Chris Rockers,” said Husch Blackwell Chairman Maurice Watson. “We are all extremely proud of our partner.  With his election, the ABA has recognized Chris’s professional excellence and leadership, as well as his longstanding service to the ABA.”

As a member of Husch Blackwell’s Financial Services & Capital Markets team, Rockers is involved extensively in a variety of financial transactions. He works on the financing of start-up companies, mergers, acquisitions, accounts receivable and inventory financing, syndications of mid-cap and large-cap financings, and secured and unsecured loans. Through his commercial finance practice, he represents lenders and borrowers on asset-based lending, cash flow financings and capital restructure and second lien loans. Rockers also provides consumer financing programs for national lenders, banks and finance companies.

Rockers received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University.

The ABA Business Law Section, with nearly 50,000 members, is one of the Association’s largest sections. Its members include law students, lawyers, law professors, and judges throughout the world.
