Husch Blackwell partner Marnie Jensen will speak at a reception announcing the plans for a Missouri launch of Appleseed, a national non-profit network dedicated to advancing justice and opportunities that help low-income people and working families build better lives. Like all of Appleseed’s 17 centers located in the U.S. and Mexico, Appleseed’s Missouri-based center will be staffed by a small contingent of highly skilled professionals – lawyers, policy analyists, and community organizers – who are in turn supported in their work by pro bono attorneys from many of the nation’s top-tier law firms, among other professionals. Appleseed’s current plans are to launch the new Missouri-based center in the fall of 2017.
Jensen has volunteered with Appleseed for many years, working on a variety of matters to assist low-income households. In 2007 Jensen received the Seeds of Justice Award from the Nebraska Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest, and the firm received the same award in 2014. Jensen will be joined as speaker at the reception by Appleseed National Director Annette LoVoi and members of Appleseed’s National Board of Directors.
The reception will take place at Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office on Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 5-7 p.m.
