National law firm Husch Blackwell welcomes 112 summer associates to its offices, effective May 22, 2023. This year’s class comprises students from 47 law schools and features a diverse and talented group, including a published author, a U.S. national team rower, a classically trained vocalist, an upcoming New York City Marathoner, and a former actor.

“We recognize this talented group had many choices for their summer experience, and we could not be more excited that they have chosen to be here today. They bring exceptional talent, and we are thrilled to be a part of their career journey,” said Husch Blackwell Chief Executive Paul Eberle.

“As a firm, we have a strong commitment to finding talented people and nurturing their career success. It’s extremely gratifying to walk the halls and see many summer program alumni who are helping to drive our growth trajectory,” said Catherine Hanaway, Husch Blackwell’s Chair.

The firm’s summer program runs for ten weeks—from May to July—providing summer associates with valuable real-world experience to prepare them for the responsibilities of practicing law. In line with Husch Blackwell’s emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, each summer associate is paired with a mentor who fosters internal relationships, identifies development prospects, and acts as their advocate.

“Developing teamwork and collaboration skills is a huge part of our program, and we give our summer associates plenty of opportunities to make those connections, both in person and virtually,” said Dean Boeschen, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Growth Officer.

Husch Blackwell ranked among the top 10 law firms in the United States among the 2022 class of summer associates, according to data published by Law360 Pulse. Overall, the firm ranked ninth in the second and final installment for 2022 of the Law360 Pulse Summer Associates Survey and was among “the vanguard in the critical areas the questions sought to cover: confidence-building, networking and mentorship, compensation and fun programming.”
