Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that it will sponsor and participate in multiple events in conjunction with the 2017 South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals in Austin, Texas.
From Sunday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 15, the Austin office of Husch Blackwell will sponsor a booth at the SXSW Trade Show’s Health Pavilion at the Austin Convention Center. Attorneys and staff from the firm will be present each day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Wednesday until 2 p.m.). The Health Pavilion is meant to promote interaction and learning with a focus on the inventive technologies that are changing the face of health and healthcare. Husch Blackwell attorneys will be available to discuss the intersection of law, healthcare and technology, including emerging areas of focus such as telemedicine, electronic health records and data privacy, specialty pharmacies and major changes in state and federal healthcare regulation.
Husch Blackwell’s Kansas City office will participate in the LaunchKC Outpost event at SXSW, slated to occur Sunday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Maggie Mae’s, located in downtown Austin at 323 East 6th Street. Hosted by LaunchKC, the LaunchKC Outpost is a day-long celebration of entrepreneurship that begins with an 11:30 a.m. panel presentation on “The State of Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital,” featuring Arnobio Morelix of the Kaufman Foundation. The panel is open to the public, although registration is required. Husch Blackwell is sponsoring the LaunchKC Outpost, along with co-sponsors the Kauffman Foundation and J. Rieger & Co.
On Monday, March 13, Husch Blackwell’s Madison office will sponsor the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce Reception at G’Raj Mahal Café, located at 73 Rainey Street in Austin. The event will feature presentations on women and minorities in entrepreneurship and technology beginning at 2 p.m. with a networking happy hour to follow at 6 p.m.
Founded in 1987, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. The event hosts artists, global professionals and the general public and features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW 2017 takes place March 10-19, 2017.
