News Releases

Husch Blackwell announced today that Sarah Razaq Sallis has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Services & Capital Markets team. She is based in Washington, DC, and joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland.

A former attorney in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA) Department of Member Regulation, Sallis advises broker-dealers, investment advisers, investment companies, financial institutions, and public companies in examinations, internal investigations, and prosecutions by FINRA, the SEC, and state securities regulators.

“Sarah is an outstanding addition to our growing securities enforcement and regulatory investigations practice,” said Sverre Roang, leader of the firm’s Financial Services and Capital Markets industry group. “She brings exceptional credentials, enhancing our ability to advise clients on ongoing federal investigations, internal investigations, and Securities Act and FINRA compliance, and is a great addition to our DC office.”

Sallis frequently guides clients through federal securities regulatory inquiries and conducts related internal investigations involving investment banking, retirement platforms, pay-to-play concerns, anti-money laundering, statutory disqualification, and other securities related matters. Sallis also regularly defends claims arising from transactions related to alternative and complex investment vehicles and strategies, including variable annuity and variable life insurance products, options trading, margin trading, real estate investment trusts, and volatility-linked exchange traded notes.

“Husch Blackwell offers the ideal platform for my practice, with a strong national footprint, strategic vision, and deep bench in financial services,” Sallis said. “I’m excited to help grow our enforcement and investigations practice in DC and nationally.”

In 2025, Husch Blackwell added nine partners to its Financial Services & Capital Markets industry team, Jeff Le Riche, who joined in October from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he served as a chief trial attorney for more than 20 years.
