Today, Husch Blackwell announced the completion of construction on its new, state-of-the-art office space in the newly constructed Commerce Bank Tower, located at 8001 Forsyth Blvd. in downtown Clayton, Missouri. Employees will begin working in the new office today.

“We are elated with the move into our new home at Commerce Bank Tower,” said Husch Blackwell Chair Catherine Hanaway. “The new development from U.S. Capital Development is a world-class commercial real estate property. PARIC Corporation did a tremendous job on the interior buildout and has provided the firm with state-of-the-art amenities that align with our vision for the Future of Work. We are grateful for this partnership with Commerce Bank and its commitment to the City of Clayton.”

Husch Blackwell will occupy the top five floors in the new Commerce Bank Tower and is taking advantage of design efficiencies to significantly reduce the office footprint compared to the previous office location. Commerce Bank is the owner of the east building and will also occupy a portion of the space in Commerce Bank Tower. “In recent years, our workplace strategy team has been working to transform our physical workspace in ways that support the firm’s culture and strategies,” said Chief Executive Paul Eberle. “We’ve been moving toward more efficient space, and our recent buildouts—including St. Louis—follow that same guiding principle. More than ever, we are focused on the experience of being in the office, and much of that experience is the product of a thoughtful approach to design, technology and firm culture, not just the amount of square footage you have.”

“Our new office designs across the platform are driven by our goal to provide physical office space that delights our internal and external clients, and enables both focused work and collaboration in an efficient, professional and inclusive setting,” said Husch Blackwell’s Chief Operating Officer Bret Chapman. “Husch Blackwell’s new St. Louis office will emphasize an office experience driven by flexibility, efficiency and convenience, while maintaining a focus on the firm’s targets on costs and square feet per attorney.”

Located at the corner of Forsyth and North Brentwood Boulevards, Forsyth Pointe encompasses two office towers, a 1,200-car parking garage, a one-acre garden terrace on the seventh floor, and ground-floor retail space. There is a 7,500 square-foot fitness facility located on the terrace level, which will be available to the tenants of both towers. The project was designed to meet LEED Silver rating and features a green roof and electric vehicle charging stations within the garage.

“The Forsyth Pointe space maximizes the utility of core areas, with floor plans that include the use of interior offices for some attorneys, paralegals and managers,” added Bob Tomaso, Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office managing partner. “We’ve installed uniform office sizes with no corner offices when possible and are leveraging technology to promote and support our hybrid workforce, including the full integration of our remote office, The Link.”

Husch Blackwell is pleased to have partnered with Commerce Bank and U.S. Capital Development on the project. U.S. Capital Development has vast development experience with commercial environments in the industrial and office sectors. Other tenants in the development’s west tower include U.S. Capital Development headquarter offices, Barry-Wehmiller Group and ElmTree Funds.
