News Releases

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Todd Gee, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi, joined the firm’s White Collar practice as a Partner in its Washington, D.C. office.

As a member of the firm’s White Collar, Internal Investigations, & Compliance practice group Gee will counsel businesses and individuals in connection with a range of criminal and civil matters, including government investigations, internal investigations, litigation, and regulatory compliance.

“We are excited that Todd has chosen Husch Blackwell for his career in private practice,” said Jody Rudman, partner and leader of Husch Blackwell’s White Collar, Internal Investigations, & Compliance practice group. “His experience enables him to establish a versatile practice advising companies and individuals facing multilayered legal challenges posed by government investigations, as well as parallel civil litigation.”

While serving as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi, Gee managed an office of more than 80 employees, including over 40 Assistant United States Attorneys, a multimillion-dollar budget, and a docket of significant criminal and civil matters. He oversaw sensitive fraud, public corruption, and other major white-collar criminal investigations, as well as civil matters brought under the False Claims Act and other statutes. Gee was also involved in policy development for DOJ, including serving on the White-Collar Fraud Subcommittee of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee.

Gee also served as a Deputy Chief and Trial Attorney in the Public Integrity Section of DOJ’s Criminal Division from 2015 to 2023, where he supervised and handled sensitive public corruption investigations and trials. From 2007 to 2015, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia.  Additionally, prior to joining the Department of Justice, Gee worked for several years as a congressional aide, including serving as the Chief Counsel of the Committee on Homeland Security in the United States House of Representatives.

“Husch Blackwell has built a reputation as being a firm where former federal prosecutors want to practice,” Gee said. “Its attorneys are held in high regard across the country as strong advocates for their clients. This team’s collegial spirit and innate ability to navigate the complexities of government investigations was extremely attractive to me when finding a law firm—Husch Blackwell checked all the boxes.”

In addition to Gee, the firm recently added Houston-based senior counsel Sherri Zack, who served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas for more than 16 years.
