Situation
When a developer needed
a team to handle the deal financing
for a socially responsible residential
development, our attorneys secured a
Chapter 353 property tax abatement
from the City of Kansas City, Missouri,
and tax-exempt bond financings from
the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development. We handled multiple
segments of the deal in time to meet the
closing deadline. Failure to do so would
have spelled disaster for the deal and the
project would have had to be rebid.
Result
The $62 million Passive
House-certified residential development
will offer affordable housing where a
gritty railroad yard once stood.
