Senior Paralegal

Tamia assists both attorneys and families through the firm’s pro bono practice.

As the firm’s family court paralegal facilitating pro bono cases for attorneys and clients, Tamia reviews motions, briefs, reports and other legal documents; assists with case strategies; and facilitates depositions. She also manages conflict checks for all pro bono matters in the firm’s Kansas City office. Coordinating with the Children’s Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services, Tamia ensures authorization of client court-ordered services, and collaborates with therapists, school officials and other professionals to meet family needs and utilize resources. Making sure client concerns are addressed, she makes foster home or out-of-home placement visits when the firm is appointed as guardian ad litem for children.

Before joining the firm, she worked for a dozen years at the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office as a paralegal investigator and four years with the Jackson County Family Court as a paralegal.
