Mike uses his professional operations experience to ensure a sharp focus on client needs and a collaborative effort on every matter.
His work includes overseeing the daily operations of two business units, encompassing more than 125 attorneys. He initiates projects by building the best teams for a given matter, which means providing the right level of industry experience to meet client objectives from Day One. He respects each client’s communications practices and aligns those with the firm to ensure seamless collaboration and teamwork.
As managing director of both the Energy & Natural Resources and Food Systems units, Mike plays a central role in keeping the firm on a growth trajectory that meets clients’ expanding needs. He leads lateral recruiting efforts that have allowed us to grow practice teams within both industries, as well as bring in exactly the talent we know clients will need.
Mike also is responsible for strategic planning, financial management, communications, and performance improvement with his teams of attorneys. He excels in the marketing and business development areas, always working with attorneys to expand existing client relationships.
Mike was previously chief marketing officer for a regional law firm and director of business operations for a global accounting firm. He came to Husch Blackwell because he believes the firm understands that the future of the legal industry hinges on providing superior service, and he finds his contribution to that evolution exciting and rewarding.
