Using insights gained from working for 14 years in student aid administration at the institutional, state and federal levels, Lisa guides clients through the maze of regulations regarding federal student financial aid.

Lisa serves as a Federal Student Aid consultant for the firm. She knows firsthand that the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) is extremely detailed when it comes to compliance requirements, and she knows the pitfalls that can trip up higher education institutions.

With such a high standard of compliance to manage, institutions can unknowingly run afoul in key areas. These include making errors in disbursing Title IV funds to students; missing elements of required consumer disclosures; not maintaining regulated levels of Title IV administrative capability; and failing to update agreements with the DOE in a timely manner. These mistakes leave institutions vulnerable during audits or program reviews and can lead to significant financial liabilities.

Lisa uses her skills and experience to perform student aid audits that uncover potential issues, and she advises institutions on corrective actions. For institutions in the midst of a federal program review, she assists by evaluating findings, navigating communications with regulators and estimating potential financial liabilities. She can make campus visits or provide assistance remotely.
