Laura assists with real estate needs in the energy industry.
Laura chose to pursue a legal career after working in infrastructure construction, where she developed an interest in the legal and contractual side of major projects. She saw how contracts and permitting shape the success of construction and wanted to play a larger role in guiding these processes from a legal perspective.
Her interest in real estate and energy law grew through both her hands-on experience in the construction industry and a year in her law school’s energy clinic. There, Laura worked on community solar projects and learned about renewable energy credits, building practical skills in a field that combines legal, technical, and regulatory challenges.
Before law school, Laura spent four years as a project and construction engineer on large-scale infrastructure projects, which gave her valuable insight into how legal issues affect project outcomes. She also completed a legal internship focused on construction litigation and an externship with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Administrative Law Judges, where she learned about energy regulation at the federal level.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Laura contributed to projects involving EPC contracts, leases for solar and wind energy projects, and government contracts. She is known for reliability, thoughtful analysis, and a focus on achieving results. Clients appreciate Laura’s attention to detail, effective communication, and commitment to helping projects move forward efficiently.
