Overview

Kaitlin focuses on intellectual property and patent matters, helping clients protect and commercialize their innovations.

A strong interest in science and technology led Kaitlin to law school, where the goal was to find a career that combined her technical background in chemical engineering with the ability to make a direct impact. Intellectual property law stood out as the right fit, offering a way to support innovation while drawing on her engineering training.

Kaitlin’s experience includes working at a boutique patent firm during law school, where she had close involvement with inventors at every stage of the patent process. This hands-on work provided a practical understanding of both the challenges and rewards of protecting new ideas. Kaitlin also spent time as a legal intern with an IT consulting company, drafting compliance notes and responding to contract questions, adding another layer of practical problem-solving to her skill set.

During a summer associate position at Husch Blackwell, Kaitlin worked with the intellectual property team on a range of projects, including patents, trademarks, and licensing. This experience confirmed a strong interest in the field and gave Kaitlin a broad perspective on client needs.

Kaitlin is known for clear communication and a detail-oriented approach. Clients benefit from her thorough explanations of complex legal concepts, organized work, and proactive attention to their needs.
