Overview

Gretchen assists clients with a variety of private wealth matters, including trust and estate litigation.

Gretchen is known for the energy and enthusiasm she brings to every part of her practice. She works with clients to draft various revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, prenuptial agreements, and other estate planning documents. Her methodical approach to problem solving and effective communication skills help to ensure that estate planning documents are tailored to clients’ individual goals.

In addition to her estate planning practice, Gretchen regularly participates in trust, estate, and fiduciary disputes. She has courtroom experience advocating on behalf of clients in conservatorships. She is a valued team member and is passionate about making litigation less daunting for clients.

Coming from a family of higher education professionals and professors, Gretchen has firsthand knowledge of the issues colleges and universities face. She incorporates this background into her practice, advising institutions on strategic planning with endowments and institutional advancement, helping them grow and move forward.

Gretchen is an excellent listener focused on finding pragmatic solutions. Clients appreciate her willingness to go above and beyond to achieve their objectives.

Gretchen enjoys vintage furniture shopping, watching classic movies with homemade popcorn, and hiking Chattanooga’s trails. A music fan, she also regularly attends symphony concerts and likes listening to Billy Joel—and she also plays guitar for her rescue cat, Toby.
