Garret helps clients with corporate matters, including business formation, transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Garret’s interest in law solidified in college, after a Constitutional Law course at the University of Texas showed him how legal analysis and argument shape real outcomes. That interest carried forward through a legislative aide role with a Texas state representative, where he researched legal and policy issues, drafted materials, and saw how legislation moves from idea to law.
Working with contracts and shaping the language of an agreement to fit the needs of a transaction drew Garret to corporate work. During law school, he pursued that interest through the Government and Legislative Clinic and as a member of the Wisconsin Law Review, and he sharpened his advocacy skills by competing in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong, one of the largest arbitration competitions for law students.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Garret worked primarily on corporate matters, gaining exposure to a variety of transactional work while learning from the attorneys around him. He found the collaborative, welcoming environment at the firm one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
Known for his attention to detail, Garret focuses on identifying potential issues before they arise. He aims to be a reliable, thorough attorney that clients can trust to look out for their interests and get the job done.
