Erica helps clients with real estate matters, including property transactions, leasing, and development.
Erica was drawn to law school by the chance to build a career that would keep challenging her and require constant learning. Before law school, she spent a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain, an experience that pushed her outside her comfort zone and taught her to adapt quickly to new environments and people.
During law school, Erica served as a Research and Articles Editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal, where she worked with staff writers through the research, editing, and publication process and wrote and published a comment on Texas extraterritorial jurisdictions. She also participated in the Real Estate Clinic, where she represented real clients on property matters, drafting documents such as Transfer on Death Deeds and Lady Bird Deeds and helping clients resolve title issues. That hands-on work with property and homeownership issues deepened her interest in real estate and gave her a practical foundation in transactional work.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell’s Austin office, Erica worked across a variety of practice areas, researching and drafting substantive legal documents alongside attorneys throughout the office. The experience also helped her build relationships with attorneys and staff that made her eager to return to the firm.
Known for her teamwork and attention to detail, Erica is committed to thorough, well-researched work. Clients can expect someone who takes the time to understand the practical side of a transaction and follows through with care.
