Cortland’s interest in the Real Estate & Development practice area stems from a desire to play a role in the development of communities. This interest was further nurtured during a summer associate position at Husch Blackwell, where Cortland gained hands-on experience in the real estate practice group. Cortland worked on assignments for retail leasing and financing and conducted extensive research—an aspect of the role that he particularly enjoyed.
Cortland focuses his practice on corporate and commercial real estate, retail leasing, and real estate investment and financing. He also enjoys assisting clients with their renewable energy projects.
Cortland was drawn to law as a service-based career: he has a passion for helping others. He uses his attention to detail, his logical reasoning, and his excellent listening skills to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
