Overview

Brett helps clients with real estate matters, including property transactions, leasing, and development.

Brett has always been drawn to solving difficult problems and helping people, and that instinct pointed him toward law school. A semester at the U.S. Attorney’s office gave him an eye-opening look at how the federal criminal justice system operates and reinforced how much the law shapes everyday life.

Brett grew up immersed in the real estate industry—traveling to construction sites with his father, a retail construction project manager, and learning the transactional side through his mother’s work at a title company. That foundation carried into law school, where he joined Husch Blackwell for a summer internship and gained hands-on experience on real estate development projects, an experience that sharpened his focus on the practice area and reinforced how to communicate effectively with clients.

As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Brett worked on projects across nearly every practice group, an experience he found valuable for the range of legal issues it exposed him to and the chance to learn from attorneys across the firm.

Known for his perseverance, competitiveness, and attention to detail, Brett is focused on being responsive and thorough with every matter. A longtime wrestler and coach, he brings the discipline of preparation and the ability to refocus when things do not go as planned, and clients can expect him to listen closely, understand what matters most to their objectives, and work toward the best possible result.
