Aliza Panjwani

Patent Agent
Overview

Aliza draws on her research background in chemistry and physics to assist clients with patent prosecution.

With a lifelong love of STEM, Aliza found a passion for chemistry and physics as a high school student. She was fascinated by these studies of the building blocks of the universe and knew she wanted to pursue a career centered on scientific explanations. When summer research positions showed her that long-term lab work wasn’t for her, Aliza discovered the patent world, where she could use her physics and chemistry knowledge as a generalist working on a wide array of technologies.

After initially joining another firm as a patent engineer, Aliza accepted a position at Husch Blackwell in early 2024 with a goal of contributing to more substantive applications and responses. Today, she assists clients with a variety of patent-related tasks, including drafting applications, guiding patent strategy, assessing patent infringement risks, and developing design workarounds. Aliza is particularly passionate about projects at the intersection of chemistry and physics, and she often works with pharmaceutical products, semiconductors, energy renewal equipment, and spectroscopy technology. While she primarily supports large corporate clients, she has worked with individual inventors as well.

Always a researcher at heart, Aliza is best known for digging deep into any patent she handles: she likes to understand the technology involved on a visceral level, and clients appreciate her attention to detail.
