Colleen helps attorneys and clients thoroughly navigate legal transitions.

Drawing on her attention to detail and knowledge of legal entity structures, Colleen takes pride in helping attorneys and clients find the best route to efficiently complete the task at hand, with cost-savings in mind. She has extensive experience reporting directly to in-house general counsel for two international, publicly traded corporations, where she gleaned valuable insight into many aspects of corporate governance, including a deeper understanding of how internal departments interact and how decisions on legal status are made. She was also responsible for attendance at board and various committee meetings, and the drafting of their meeting minutes. This firsthand knowledge now serves as an important resource Colleen provides to corporate attorneys.

Colleen assists attorneys with domestic and international entity creation, corporate governance, compliance, due diligence and contract administration. In this role she prepares various domestic and foreign corporate filings such as incorporations, mergers, conversions and dissolutions. She plays an essential role in communicating with clients and in managing and coordinating all aspects of complex corporate transactions across a variety of industries including, but not limited to, energy and natural resources, real estate, and cannabis and industrial hemp.

  • Facilitated compliance committee of publicly traded company on behalf of general counsel and communicated activities with audit committee, including regular interaction with independent auditors and company's internal audit department.
  • Supported publicly traded Fortune 500 company in creation and maintenance of more than 200 domestic and international subsidiaries, branches and representative offices in more than 64 countries, with primary responsibility for developing and maintaining corporate database housing all corporate data.
  • Developed corporate policies and procedures related to subsidiary management best practices for domestic and international units. Implemented approved changes by selecting appropriate software, designing new database, managing data conversion, structuring access to data based on security protocols and training individual users.
  • Managed due diligence in several large acquisitions pertaining to acquisition and/or divestiture of natural gas assets, real property and corporate entities.
  • Worked in coordinated effort with municipal departments in San Antonio to facilitate environmental compliance in operation and expansion of utility sector.

Colleen is an avid reader in her spare time.

Colleen voraciously reads fiction and non-fiction alike. Her passion for literature has inspired her to start writing her first novel. She also likes to cross-stitch and enjoys the opportunity to create beautiful works of art with her hands.
