Liz LaFoe and Lisa Luetkemeyer will present, “Documentation Do’s and Don’ts and an Overview of the IDR Process: A Guide for LTC Facilities,” at the Missouri Health Care Association (MHCA) 77th Annual Convention & Trade Show on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Part One of this presentation will cover best practices and common errors with respect to medical record documentation for post-acute care providers (skilled nursing and assisted living facilities). It will also touch on responding to medical records requests and subpoenas. Part Two will provide an overview of the IDR process in Missouri, including options available to facilities for pursuing IDR after receiving a survey deficiency, timeframes in which to request and pursue IDR, and different IDR strategies, including whether or not to involve counsel in the IDR process, which deficiencies to contest, and common arguments to consider raising.
