This panel features a broad range of professionals engaged in controlled substances law, including expertise from the biopharmaceutical, consumer, banking and law firm perspectives. Panelists review the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), the Drug Enforcement Agency and federal and state law considerations that shape the existing framework within which industries falling within their purview operate and share practical considerations for counsel representing clients in the arena.  


After completing this program, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the role of the Controlled Substances Act, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and law enforcement in controlled substances law 
  • Review federal, state, and international legal considerations  
  • Understand DEA Drug Scheduling – reviewing schedules 1-5
