Advanced Title IX Workshop
Co-sponsored by Husch Blackwell and Rockford University
Advanced Title IX
In light of heightened awareness, shifting guidance, multiplying state laws and changes in enforcement posture, institutions of higher education must continue to train their Title IX professionals to effectively investigate and resolve alleged incidents of sex and gender discrimination, sexual harassment and interpersonal violence.
Your institution has already laid the groundwork with policies, programs and general training on Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and the Clery Act. To expand on this work, Husch Blackwell and Rockford University invite your Title IX investigators and coordinators for a full-day course that goes beyond the basics to include enhanced learning formats and nuanced information to build depth of understanding.
The workshop is led by experienced attorneys from Husch Blackwell’s higher education group who focus on sexual misconduct investigations and compliance under Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, and evolving state laws and expectations. This course includes new videos and interactive sessions, traditional presentations and up-to-date information on responding to sexual misconduct in a way that ensures accuracy and compliance.
- Trends in evolving Title IX guidance and enforcement
- Balancing needs in responding to complaints
- Notice and documentation best practices
- Interview techniques: structure, process, questioning and nuance
- Consent and trauma-informed practices
- Navigating mental health issues in investigations
