The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville''s School of Business, Southwestern Illinois Entrepreneurship Center, and the School of Pharmacy and Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP invite you to a half-day Intellectual Property Seminar covering copyright, trademark and patent issues. Topics will be of interest to researchers (both faculty and students), university technology managers, corporations and small businesses alike. The seminar topics and descriptions are as follows:

Copyrights: Rights & Ownership - Covers copyright ownership issues including fair use, joint authorship and works for hire. This section will be of particular interest to those who publish often as it will provide useful advice on pitfalls to avoid and issues to understand.

Trademarks - An overview of trademarks that will provide practical notes to consider. This section will also provide insight into branding programs.

Patents - A general patent overview that will provide information on patent issues that are common to most universities including the impact of publications made by the inventor.

This seminar is approved for 3.9 hours of MO credit and 3.0 hours of IL credit.
