Definition of “Public Works”: Any project where the state or political subdivision is a party to construction, alteration, demolition or any combination of these, including painting and decorating, of public buildings, public works or public roads of the state and that requires or involves the employment of mechanics, laborers or both.
Categories of Construction Covered: Street, highway, utility, or light engineering construction; general building; residential construction; heavy engineering construction.
Source of Funds: Any project over $60,000 where the state or any political subdivision is a party.
