Situation
A microelectronic chemical manufacturer sought our counsel as it faced multiple lawsuits brought by more than 250 current and former clean room workers and their families. They alleged personal injury caused by exposure to “hazardous toxic chemicals and substances” at computer chip plants.
Result
Through extensive fact discovery and motion practice, we obtained summary judgments based on general and specific causation in the bellwether cases. Summary judgment was also obtained on other claimants based on statute of limitations, preconception tort and the Workers’ Compensation Bar.
