The St. Louis Business Journal’s 2019 "30 Under 30" class came together on their own to adopt four families through Grace Hill Settlement House this holiday season.

Coordinated by Husch Blackwell associate Aleks Rushing, the “future leaders of the region and the local business community” provided holiday gifts and food to the families during an event on December 7, 2019.

The "30 Under 30" honorees adopted four families living at or below the poverty line with at least two children in the North City area of St. Louis. They purchased, collected, wrapped and delivered gifts including clothing, shoes and bedding on Saturday, December 7. By soliciting donations and gifts from colleagues, the group was able to exceed the families’ wish lists and provide additional food for healthy meals to these families.

“It was important for each of us that this honor be more than a title. We wanted to embrace what it means to be a member of the '30 Under 30' class and give back to our community,” said Rushing. “Seeing the look on the families’ faces as we made their holiday wishes come true was priceless.”
