Rick Anderson Named Managing Partner of Husch Blackwell's Houston Office

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Rick Anderson has been named managing partner of the firm’s Houston office. He succeeds Kate David.

“I want to thank Kate for her years of service and the many contributions she has made to the Houston office,” said Jamie Lawless, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Executive. “Rick is an excellent steward of the firm. “His deep roots in Houston, both within our office and across the broader community, position him to execute his vision for how our Texas offices can work together to grow and better serve clients across the region. I have every confidence that under his leadership, our Houston office will continue to flourish.”

A member of the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation group, Anderson focuses his practice on complex, high-stakes commercial litigation in state and federal courts and arbitration. He serves clients in matters involving class actions, shareholder and investor disputes, director and officer liability, commercial contract disputes, product liability, construction litigation, and regulatory and governmental investigations.

He has served as State Executive Board Chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas and has held leadership positions at both the state and Houston chapter levels, including board president and gala chair. He has served as a Houston Bar Association Ambassador and on multiple years has co-chaired the association’s Bench Bar Conference Committee, Fun Run and CLE Committee. He also serves as a mentor on the firm’s diversity liaison program and  as co-chair of the firm’s HB B.L.A.C.K. Employee Resource Group.

Anderson is board certified in commercial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America®, and is a four-time recipient of the President’s Award from the Houston Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School and holds a B.B.A. from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business. Anderson is a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Bar Foundation, Houston Bar Association, and the College of the State Bar of Texas, among other professional organizations.
