Michele Sowers, a Partner in Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office, has been named a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council. Known as PLAC, it is a nonprofit association of more than 100 leading product manufacturers and more than 350 of the foremost product liability defense counsel in the United States and abroad.

Membership is by invitation only, extended by the PLAC Board of Directors, to “the best trial and appellate lawyers in the product liability bar” and is selected on the basis of being judged capable of making “significant contributions” to the association’s mission. In addition, PLAC members seek to contribute to the improvement and reform of law in the United States and elsewhere, with emphasis on the law governing the liability of manufacturers of products.

Sowers has extensive product liability and defense litigation experience, specifically concentrating on clients in the manufacturing industry. Her legal practice primarily focuses on automotive manufacturers and suppliers, including serving as the national product liability counsel for one of the world’s largest airbag electronic component suppliers. In addition, Sowers is a member of the firm’s Partner Board.
