Kristine Zayko brings 20 years of in-house counsel
experience to Husch Blackwell.

Husch Blackwell is pleased to welcome Kristine Zayko as senior counsel in its Education practice group. She will report from the firm’s Chicago office.

Zayko served for 20 years as in-house counsel for a major public research institution and has significant experience working with governing boards, senior leaders, academic administrators, and multi-constituent academic governance groups on challenging legal and policy issues. She also has extensive experience with agency proceedings, including U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and state civil rights agencies. Zayko is a frequent presenter on significant issues that affect higher education.

Zayko earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan and her B.A. summa cum laude from Michigan State University.
