Husch Blackwell is representing Vasari, the Texas-based franchisee for 70 Dairy Queen branded restaurants, as debtor’s counsel in Vasari’s Chapter 11 filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. Vasari closed 22 stores prepetition and has stated its intent to use the Chapter 11 process to restructure its existing operations in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and in the face of declining performance in the oil and gas industry, a main economic driver within Vasari’s geographic footprint.

Husch Blackwell’s Insolvency & Commercial Bankruptcy team has represented all major constituencies in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy restructurings. The group has been lead insolvency counsel for cases in more than 40 states and has unique experience representing clients in international insolvency proceedings, food and energy bankruptcy matters, and insurance insolvencies. The team handles the full spectrum of creditor and debtor representations, including Chapter 11 reorganizations, bankruptcy litigation, distressed mergers and acquisitions, creditors’ rights and extraordinary remedies, and workouts and out-of-court restructurings.

The Husch Blackwell team representing Vasari is led by Vickie Driver and includes Christina Stephenson, Ryan Burgett and Alexander Terras.
