Husch Blackwell Moves London Office, Expands Relationship with U.K. Firm McGrigors

News Releases

Husch Blackwell announces the upcoming relocation of its London office to 5 Old Bailey, into space that is contiguous to McGrigors' long-established London office. The May 16 move is expected to enhance its referral relationship with McGrigors, which focuses on legal matters related to infrastructure, financial services, energy and governmental affairs.

"Our new location provides the added benefit of deepening our strategic affiliation with McGrigors, with which we could not be more pleased," said Jim Ash, firmwide Business Division Chair for Husch Blackwell. "The cultural fit and client service overlap are striking. We anticipate particular opportunities in the areas of infrastructure, finance, energy and governmental affairs, where each of our firms currently has a leading practice. Continuing to build this relationship through already-identified client synergies and attorney exchange opportunities is a key priority for us."

"We are extremely pleased to be able to offer our clients across the United Kingdom access to a high-quality partner in the United States," says Richard Masters, Managing Partner of McGrigors. "It's clear that, in our key sectors of infrastructure, energy and professional and financial services, our clients work in an increasingly globalized marketplace. As a leading provider of legal services, we pride ourselves on being able to respond to and assist our clients wherever they may be, and this relationship will help us do that. We have been highly impressed by Husch Blackwell, which shares our client-focused ethos and also many of the areas of specialism for which we are particularly well-known."

"Our model is unique," says Michael Ray, Husch Blackwell's London Office Managing Partner. "We do not compete with U.K. law firms. Rather, using a select network of premier U.K. law firms, we manage our clients' U.K. service needs and provide a full-service resource for the legal needs of U.K.-based businesses across the United States."

McGrigors LLP is a UK Top 50 law firm with offices in Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester, the Falkland Islands and Qatar. With 100 partners, McGrigors advises clients, including national and multinational organizations in private and public sectors, on a wide variety of commercial issues.
