National law firm Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that The American Lawyer has named Chief Executive Jamie Lawless a finalist for Managing Partner of the Year in its annual Industry Awards.
The Managing Partner of the Year award recognizes leadership prowess in law firm management, honoring notable initiatives and successes in areas ranging from talent and technology to client and public engagement.
Since assuming the role as Chief Executive in February 2024, Lawless has led Husch Blackwell through a bold transformation, driving more than 27% revenue growth while positioning the firm for long-term success. Under her leadership, the firm reimagined its executive structure, introducing new, chief business development officer and chief transformation officer roles and appointing a new COO and CFO to strengthen operational excellence and strategic execution. Lawless has also championed the firm’s investment in innovation, most recently standing up one of the legal industry’s first Transformation Offices bringing strategy execution, data science, and artificial intelligence under one functional umbrella
Lawless, the only finalist for Managing Partner of the Year who is not a lawyer by trade, also led the firm’s expansion into non-legal business consulting, launching HB Consulting for higher education and HBC AI Advisory Services, a team focused on artificial intelligence, compliance, and risk management.
While many competitors adopted stricter in-office requirements, Husch Blackwell continued to grow The Link, which now has more than 850 attorneys and business professionals, more than triple the firm’s largest physical office, with the highest productivity and billable hours firmwide. Lawless herself is a member of The Link and is not based at any single office. As a citizen of the firm, it allows her to be where she needs to be across the firm’s national platform, when she needs to be there.
