Husch Blackwell represented Spanish performing artist Antonio Díaz and his group of companies—artistically known as “El Mago Pop”—in the acquisition of Encore Theatre in Branson, Missouri.

Led by partner Andrew Hodgson, Husch Blackwell served as United States counsel in the acquisition of the theater and establishing El Mago Pop’s U.S. entity. Encore Theater, which will be rebranded as Branson Magic Theater, will serve as the base of domestic operations where Díaz can program his show and prepare new show formats for his various U.S. projects—mainly Broadway and other major cities.

“We are pleased to have had the opportunity to assist Antonio Díaz in establishing an American presence,” Hodgson said. “El Mago Pop has gained worldwide notoriety and we’re eager to watch his career continue to grow.”

Husch Blackwell is advising on other aspects of El Mago Pop’s transition into the U.S.

In addition to Hodgson, the Husch Blackwell team included attorney Aaron Chickos.
