Husch Blackwell welcomes Associate Lauren M. Hawkins to the Springfield, Mo., office, where she joins the firm’s Corporate team. Hawkins has most recently served as counsel for companies in several industries including construction, real estate, resort and hospitality.

Hawkins previously served as corporate and small business counsel with Hawkins Law LLC in Kimberling City, Mo. (2014-2015), where she acted as outside general counsel for a variety of businesses. Her service included advising company clients on newly enacted legislation matters and regulatory requirements, drafting and implementing company policies and procedures, drafting and advising on corporate contracts, and engaging in risk management and pre-litigation negotiations. Prior to that, Hawkins served as general counsel and finance manager for Tri-Lakes Exterior Home Improvement (2011-2014), and as a professional consultant for DBSD North America Inc. (2011-2012), both in Kimberling City, Mo. At Tri-Lakes, Hawkins drafted and negotiated company contracts and operative documents, ensured compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and provided general business and legal guidance. At DBSD, Hawkins advised on general corporate and restructuring matters until the acquisition of DBSD by DISH Network Corporation was complete. Initially upon receiving her J.D., Hawkins served as a corporate restructuring attorney with Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago (2006-2011). While there, she advised clients on legal and business issues including complex financial and operational restructurings, contract matters, regulatory matters, trade and operational issues, employee and human resource matters and corporate governance matters.

Hawkins received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Mo. (2005), and her B.S. in Political Science from Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. (2001).
