Jack Horner Joins Husch Blackwell

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that John R. ("Jack") Horner has joined the firm's Washington, D.C., office as a Senior Advisor for the firm's Governmental Affairs group.

Prior to joining the firm, Horner served as Director of Congressional Relations for the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) from 2002 to 2009. While serving as director, Horner acted as the agency's main point of contact with Congress during the legislative consideration and subsequent agency implementation of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, the first major effort to update consumer product safety laws since 1991.

Prior to working for the CPSC, Horner was Director of Legislative and Members' Services for the House Republican Conference (1998-2002) and served as Legislative Director to the Chairman, Rep. J.C. Watts Jr., R-Okla. (1995-1998). From 1988 to 1995, Horner was Vice-President of Campbell-Crane and Associates, a government relations firm, and from 1986 to 1988, he was appointed and served as Special Assistant to the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. After graduating from college in 1971, Horner spent 15 years as a Staff Assistant for two members of the U.S. House of Representatives: Hal Daub, R-Neb., and Margaret Heckler, R-Mass.

Horner earned his Masters in Public Administration from American University (1980) and his B.A. from Syracuse University (1971).
