Husch Blackwell Sanders partner J. Dale Youngs was recently appointed by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon to the 16th Judicial Circuit in Jackson County. Youngs will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge John O’Malley.

Youngs has focused his private practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation and government compliance and investigations. During his time at Husch Blackwell Sanders, he has represented clients in complex litigation cases, as well as in a variety of matters involving state and federal law enforcement.

In the public sector, Youngs held various positions within the Missouri Attorney General's Office, including Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division, Director of the High Technology and Computer Crime Unit, and Chief Counsel for the office's Western Region. While serving in the Attorney General's office, Youngs oversaw the prosecution of several groundbreaking cases in the areas of consumer protection, Internet commerce and computer crime.

Youngs was one of three candidates submitted for consideration to Gov. Nixon by the 16th Circuit Judicial Commission under the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan.
