Represented a competitive energy supplier on a prospective wind farm development in Chase County, Kan. Representation on project involved acquisition of real property rights, siting and permitting issues, and governmental affairs and advocacy efforts to counter opposition to the wind project;
Provided public relations and government affairs guidance to a major publicly traded hospitality company seeking to develop a world-class environmental sustainability program;
Provided administrative law and government affairs support on behalf of a publicly traded healthcare company, resolving politically charged disputes over the licensing of certain ambulatory surgical centers in Missouri and Georgia;
Provided project management support, including oversight of legal, governmental affairs, engineering and marketing activities, for a $980 million development project in Wyandotte County, Kan;
Secured a congressionally directed appropriation in the SAFETEA-LU for the construction of an interstate exit at I-80 and Pflug Road, adjacent to land owned by the company. We secured legislative support for this project;
Assist the Port Authority in obtaining funding for development efforts related to the extension of the Christopher S. Bond Bridge and the existing Grand Avenue Viaduct. $2 million in funding for access roads to the bridge was necessary by November 2010 for the bridge to be opened to traffic. We obtained critical support from the local congressional delegation, and successfully facilitated negotiations with local, state and federal officials for the needed funding;
Helped secure a provision in the final version of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 which preserved eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid Reimbursement and ensured the continuing viability of a $150 million hospital project in Bellevue, Nebraska.
