Situation
A subcontractor was not paid for construction services on a computer chip manufacturing plant expansion project. Construction on the complex, fast-track project had begun (and finished) without a signed contract. However, the subcontractor and the upstream contractor had exchanged myriad proposed contracts, applications for payment and related communications.
Result
Our litigation team managed to condense the complicated facts, involving some 145,000 documents and scores of potential witnesses, into an understandable case presented to a Dallas jury in five days. It took less than three hours for the jury to unanimously find in favor of our subcontractor client and award full damages of $6.2 million.
