Situation
After years of research and testing, Benefuel Inc. of Irving, Texas, was ready to commercially launch a technology that would make the production of biodiesel more profitable and less wasteful. The patented ENSEL™ process reduces refining costs, allowing biodiesel to compete with petroleum diesel.
Result
Our team facilitated a joint venture between Benefuel and a leading independent refining, chemicals and biofuels company for the development and construction of biodiesel refineries in the U.S. that would use the patented process. Among the investors in the first refinery—located in Beatrice, Neb.—is a Japanese corporation.
