Situation
Hospital discovered several arrangements that appeared to be in violation of the Medicare laws and sought advice on how to best minimize its exposure and remedy the arrangements.
Result
We assisted the hospital in conducting an internal review of the concerns, put an immediate corrective action plan in place, and disclosed the issues to the Office of Inspector General. As part of the internal review, we developed the best case for minimizing exposure and settled the False Claims Act case on terms favorable to the hospital.
