Husch Blackwell Sanders is pleased to announce that John A. Sholar Jr. has joined the firm’s Chicago office as an Associate in the Litigation department where he will focus his practice on Intellectual Property Litigation.

Sholar has experience handling all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts in patent, construction, real estate, consumer class action, securities class action and professional malpractice cases.

Prior to joining the firm, Sholar was an Associate at Winston & Strawn LLP (2008-2010). Preceding that, he was a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Margaret Ryan in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (2007-2008). Prior to receiving his law degree, Sholar was a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy (2000-2004).

Sholar earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois (2006), where he was Symposium Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A. from the University of Illinois (2000).
